If I recall correctly when passing on reclassifying for this school year the IHSAA made success factor adjustments after last year and indicated that the 2020-21 and 2021-22 would be a success factor measuring period for the next realignment.

We had a lot of lot success factor movement after last year. Pioneer and Loogootee were both moved from 1A to 2A and Linton-Stockton was moved from 2A to 3A.

I believe there are three potential success factor move-ups for the next cycle. Please correct me if I've missed anything.

If a team accumulates six points in two seasons, they are to be moved up for success factor. Schools earn 4 points for a state title, 3 points for a semi-state title, 2 points for a regional title and 1 point for a sectional title. You earn points only for the highest title you win.

Silver Creek won 3A last year (4 points) and has won a regional (2 points) this year. They have at least 6 points and will be moved to 4A

South Bend Washington was state runner-up last year (3 points for a semi-state title). If they win the semi-state this week they will have at least 6 points and will be moved to 4A.

University won a 2A regional (2 points) last year and is still alive this year. If they win a state championship (4 points), they will move to 3A.

Garrett, Chatard, Fairfield, Frankton, Forest Park, North White, Lafayette Central Catholic, Waldron and Tecumseh were eliminated in the regional or sectional last year and therefore cannot earn enough points this year to move up.
