2015-2016 Basketball Skill/Instructional League for K-8th Grade
November 4th –December 20th
The Delta Basketball Program will be starting a Basketball Skill Instructional League starting Nov. 4th through December 20th for boys and girls in grades K-8th. The instructional league will focus on a lot of fundamental, and skill work. We are more worried about working on the player’s skill development than playing 5 on 5. The league will consist of 4 weeks of practice and 3 weeks of games (6 games total). If you have any questions please email me at: rvanskyock@delcomschools.org. If you have kids playing in other leagues we will work around their schedule. Just let us know the times so we can schedule them a time slot that fits.
Skill Instructional League will consist of:
Grades: K-5 Every Wednesday, Thursday 645-7:45 PM Delta High School Aux Gym
Grades 6-8th Every Wednesday, Thursday 7:45-8:45 PM Delta High School Aux Gym

Participant Release: I hereby grant permission for my child to participate in the shooting clinic through Delta High School. Further, I agree to hold harmless and release Delta High School, its officers, directors, and officials from any and all liability, claims, and action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or Injury that may be sustained by my child during participation of Delta Basketball Camp.

Skill Instructional League will consist of:
- Teaching skills and concepts. (Pivoting, Screening, Reading the Defense, Playing Help side M-M Defense, Rebounding, ball handling, explosive first step, driving moves, etc.,
- Placing players in competitive, game-like situations to practice the skills.
- Creating a relaxed, fun environment. Higher stress levels slow the learning process and cause kids to quit sports.
- 1 on 1 instruction and skill work
- College Coaches and professional trainers giving skill advice
- Workouts based on your grade level and the player’s skill development.
- Competitive 5 on 5 games focusing on the fundamentals we have been teaching the last four weeks. Licensed official. Equal playing time. Playing on the high school court and more. If you play in another league let us know and we can work your games around that.
- Team T-Shirt
- Contest- 3 point shootout, Speed Dribble, Ft Shooting, (Each Winner will receive a prize)
