Fountain Central is looking for a boys varsity basketball coach. Former Coach Phil Shabi has moved into the position of assistant principal. The Mustangs were 9-13 this season and graduated 5 seniors. However, their 2 leading scorers were a freshman and a sophomore. There is plenty of talent remaining, with some very athletic young players. JV went 13-8. Mason Larkin (6’7”, 10ppg, 5 rebs) returns, as does PG Will Harmon (9.8ppg). Luke Foxworthy, Carter Merryman, Imanol Barradas, and Seth Martin all return with significant experience as well. Several athletic players with good size return from the JV. The Mustangs are poised to have some success down the road.

Fountain Central is a rural school that competes in Sectional 38 (2A) in boys basketball. They compete in 1A in football. They won basketball sectionals in 2012, 2014, & 2015. Historically, they have hosted their sectional about every other year.

Multiple teaching openings in the elementary are confirmed, as well as potential high school openings. With coach moving to the assistant principal spot, that leaves an opening as head of guidance as well. As teaching positions are likely to open up toward the end of the school year, all applicants will be considered as it is determined what teaching positions need to be filled. Send application, cover letter, resume, and references to athletic director Jason Good (goodj@sefschools.org). They plan to accept applications until April 30, but the position will remain open until filled.
