Mawbey came to the interview for the Connersville job with a T-shirt that read "State Champion."
The reason for the shirt was simple, he said.
"I knew that's what Connersville expected," he said, matter-of-factly.
Under his guidance, CHS did not live up to the words emblazoned on the shirt, not right away at least.
But they did make big strides.
