I look at some of the smaller schools and their histories, and I wonder what most fans would appreciate most.
1. Would you rather have a program that wins about 10 games a year that has a great season every 15 seasons and no regional championship or...
2. Would you rather enjoy a state championship or deep success in the tourney, but not win 30 total games in the next decade and it's obvious it's going to be a struggle?
One is hope each year with no ultimate success and one is ultimate success, but then prolonged misery.
There are few UK programs especially at the smaller school levels. A decade of high success is rare, it does exist, but it is rare.
What some schools like Loogootee or Barr Reeve do not only having success for a decade, but do for 40 or 50 years is amazing.
