Another championship comes to Grant County as one of the Special Olympics basketball team brought home the trophy from the tourney while another took second place held in Terre Haute over the weekend.

The Grant County Warriors
won the traditional 5
on 5 Level 2 basketball state
championship during the
Special Olympics Indiana’s
State Basketball Championships
over the weekend at
Indiana State University in
Terre Haute.
The Warriors defeated the
Howard County Wildkats
43-35 in the state championship
game on Sunday. The
Warriors finished the season
undefeated at 11-0.
To advance to the state
championship game, the
Warriors beat the Clark-
Floyd County All-Stars 40-
28 on Saturday.
In the second
round on Saturday, the Warriors
beat the Boone County
Bombers 51-20.
The Grant County Blaze
took second in the traditional
5-on-5 Level 1 division.
They were defeated by
the Carroll County Cougars
53-36 in the championship
game on Sunday.
Congrats to all of those kids on their big wins.
