In doing some research for another story, I ran across a stat that seldom appears in most mid-century reporting - That of coaching changes.
The article I ran across indicated there were 235 new basketball coaches in Indiana for the 1947-48 season. I am assuming these were only boys as girls teams had pretty much been phased out at this point in Indiana history. Additionally this number is probably inflated as more than a few coaches were re-entering the profession following service in World War II.
